In our attempt to achieve this mission, we implement a sustainable growth process based on the environmental protection and on the commitment for the social well-being of our employees and the community in which we operate.
MANUFACTURING METHOD AND CERTIFICATIONS
MANUFACTURING METHOD
Visa SpA pays the utmost attention to respecting the interests of the community and considers the environment and nature as fundamental values and heritage that needs to be protected. Visa SpA has always adopted responsible behavior to protect the environment by acting in compliance with the applicable environmental regulations, as well as respecting the limits defined by the competent authorities, and avoiding behavior that could be harmful to the environment.
Our Environmental Plan includes some objectives that involve the entire organization:
- ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS: continuous monitoring and reduction of emissions coming from manufacturing processes or from the combustion of fossil fuels.
- ENERGY: reduction of total energy consumption by optimizing the efficiency of plants and processes, sourcing from renewable sources and self-consumption.
- WATER and DISCHARGE: constant commitment to reducing total water consumption and maintaining a high level of control for waste water.
- WASTE: reduction of the generated amount of waste and increase of the reuse rate.
VISA SPA OUR CERTIFICATIONS:
ISO 45001:2023 - HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Visa SpA is now ISO 45001:2023 certified. This standard specifies “the requirements of a management system for the HEALTH and SAFETY of workers.” Achieving this certification is an important acknowledgment granted by an accredited third-party body. The certification demonstrates Visa SpA’ s dedication to creating safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injuries and illnesses and proactively improving its occupational health and safety performance. The primary objective is to improve safety and safeguard the health of both employees and external personnel. The certification already incorporates the A1 update, which addresses actions related to climate change.
ISO 14001:2015 – ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Visa SpA plant is certified ISO 14001:2015. The system defines specific monitoring and control procedures, assigns clear roles and responsibilities and maintains active communication among the interested parties as well as with the competent Authorities. In compliance with the requirements of the Environmental Management System, every year the production plants define suggestions and processes to improve environmental performance. The provisions defined at the Group's sites are of great importance to ensure immediate action in situations of potential environmental emergency. They guarantee a prompt reaction in the event of an accident in order to avoid or to minimize the environmental impact. The latest certification renewal already incorporates the A1 update regarding actions relating to climate change.
ISO 9001:2015 – QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Visa SpA is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The standard specifies “requirements for a quality management system when an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and it aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements”. The latest certification renewal already incorporates the A1 update regarding actions relating to climate change.
EN 1090
EN 1090 certification, certifies a company’s ability to produce materials that meet all the quality requirements of the standard. This type of certification allows, for example, to be able to mark CE our structural steel products and to sell them and work in Europe and abroad.
ISO 3834 - WELDING PROCESS
ISO 3834 defines the quality requirements for welding for fusion of metallic materials. Among the objectives of the standard are: to ensure the company’s competence in the welding process, to guarantee to customers the conformity of the products manufactured, and to safeguard workers during the work phases.
ETHICAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSABILITY
Visa SpA undertakes to operate in compliance with the respect of the human rights, of the rights and professionalism of its employees, to guarantee a healthy work environment to protect the health and the safety of people who work there.
THE ATTENTION TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF WORKERS IS PART OF COMPANY POLICY
In all our activities we strive for the preservation of our environment by spreading a corporate culture characterized by a strong environmental awareness. At the same time we strive to ensure that there is the utmost attention to the health and safety of workers. For this reason we wanted to integrate our commitment to the environment and to worker safety into the "Company Policy" document.
Ecologial solutions already adopted by our generating sets
LATEST GENERATION LOW-EMISSION ENGINES
Visa SpA provides different ranges of low emission gensets for stationary or mobile use applications. Generators for stationary applications are already available also equipped with engines complying with the strictest standards about emissions.
Galaxy and Galaxy PLUS ranges for stationary use have been equipped with emission-compliant engines (up to StageV), exceeding the requirements established by the 97/68 / EC regulation, which does not apply to fixed speed machines, but which is increasingly required for urban installations and allow the post-treatment of exhaust gases, guaranteeing a significant reduction in emissions and pollutants. Regarding the mobile use, the customer can choose, depending on the regulations in his territory, the type of emission-compliant machine he wishes by selecting amount the different configuration available, up to the most performing STAGE V which allows a reduction of gaseous emissions by over 85% compared to non-emissioned engines.
GAS-EMISSION ABATEMENT SYSTEMS
Visa SpA provides gas emissions abatement systems that effectively allow the reduction of fine dust generated by endothermic engines. Our ranges are suitable for the following solutions:
- PARTICULATE FILTERS (DPF): They typically reduce fine dust (PM) and can reach very high reduction levels (over 90%). They work by activating an oxidation and they require high temperatures to clean (regenerate).
- SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction): They are called selective filters and they are used to reduce NOx. They typically work by injecting ammonia or urea (AD-BLUE) before the filter. Within the active centers of the catalyst, nitrogen oxides react with the ammonia solution (direct ammonia solution 25% or obtained from the dissociation of urea at high temperatures) to produce nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O).
INTEGRATED LIQUID COLLECTION BASINS
Fox / BigFox, Galaxy, Galaxy Plus and Galaxy GO series gensets are standard equipped with an appropriately sized retention basin to collect any kind of liquid that can be contained the engine, in the radiator and in the fuel tank, allowing to protect the environment from accidental or possible spills during maintenance operations.
Furthermore, all Onis Visa generating sets are equipped with a collection basin to contain the dripping of liquids that may come from the machine during its normal operation, to avoid any pollutants to reach the ground.
PLANNING A BETTER FUTURE: PROJECTS WITH ALTERNATIVE FUELS
ONIS VISA HYDROGEN POWER GENERATOR
Visa SpA is speeding up the investments in hydrogen technology. This process will improve the ability to deliver emission-free energy around the world.
Based on a partnership with one of its engine suppliers, a prototype of 150 kVA hydrogen combustion genset was developed. This solution is Tier 4f / Stage V compliant with no after-treatment and results in almost no NOx emissions.
Visa SpA is currently exploring hydrogen technologies to better understand their potentiality and a long-term use in power generation. This type of solution will support companies around the world to reduce emissions and to bridge the gap towards "zero impact" . This means better knowledge and higher investments in storage and transportation infrastructure, so we are testing different technologies in order to fully understand the role that hydrogen can play in the energy transition process.
