ONIS VISA GENSETS TO POWER CHAIRLIFTS AND HUTS IN CORTINA D’AMPEZZO
The delicate detachment operations of the Medium Voltage line were successfully carried out on 8 January for the replacement of transformers inside the new electrical cabins powering chairlifts and mountain huts in the Cortina d'Ampezzo area.
The activity was possible thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, of Fondazione Cortina 2021, of Ista SpA, the provider of the ski facilities and of Visa SPA, the Italian company leader in the production of generating sets and technical sponsor of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2021 that will be held in Cortina, which provided 5 units of generators to ensure the necessary electricity supply during the replacement operations.
The machines belonging to the modern rental fleet, particularly suitable for emergency situations and fast and flexible interventions, were used to power the Tofana Express chairlift as well as a series of mountain hubs: Duca d'Aosta, Pomedes, Pié Tofana, Col Taron and Socrepes.
Elettricità Cortina Snc also was involved in the operations, as Visa SpA's partner, who successfully carried out the equipment’s installation and connection, granting the full respect of the required deadlines.
The Visa company counts on a range of generators specifically developed for the alpine areas, ensuring a very low environmental impact and complying with the latest standards for noise emissions, equipped with oversized fuel tanks to reduce the number of fuel supplies and the modern remote monitoring system via smartphone, all features that make the gensets particularly suitable for harsh environmental conditions.
The right choice to be used in all those emergency situations that require extreme reliability, always supported by specialized technical staff.
The gensets used in the operations will remain available in the Cortina d'Ampezzo area also in the coming weeks to be used for back-up service in case of need.
