The PMG (Permanent Magnet) directly powers the AVR; in this way, the load and the AVR are isolated, the AVR continues to be powered and it is less affected by the voltage fluctuations that may be present in the load. By isolating the AVR , it allows to get better load acceptances.
SOME EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS THAT REQUIRE PMG:
- UPSs (static uninterruptible power supplies)
- INVERTER and SOFT STARTERS (reduce the starting current)
- ROBOTS (typically powered through inverter)
- CRANES (especially those of new generation)
- RESISTANCE FURNACES
- LARGE BATTERY-CHARGERS
- COMPUTER EQUIPMENT (computers, monitors, printers, …)
