On the alternators, each of the openings associated with the cooling-air path must be fitted with a screen and, on occasion, an additional louver to comply with the relevant EU Directives for ac generators (alternators); primarily to  protect against the ingress of solid objects, plus the harmful ingress of liquids.

Canopy Additional protection

Special inlet AIR filters with different IP degrees can be installed in order to protect the correct operation against the presence of excessive dust.

Instead of installing alternators with special IP protections, we can act directly on the genset canopy providing specific filters installed in the intake openings to avoid dust and other particles to enter.
